1010 Deluxe

1010 Deluxe is a block-placement puzzle game where you arrange different shapes on a 10×10 board, complete full horizontal or vertical lines, clear those lines, and keep enough empty space for the next group of pieces.

What makes the game interesting is that nothing falls automatically. You decide exactly where every shape goes. That removes the pressure of falling-block games but replaces it with a different problem: every placement can make the next three pieces easier or much harder to fit.

How 1010! Deluxe Works

The board starts mostly empty.

A set of three shapes is available.

You drag each shape onto open spaces on the board.

When you completely fill a horizontal row or vertical column, that line disappears and creates more space.

After all three available shapes are placed, another set becomes available.

The board looks large when a run begins, but empty areas can disappear surprisingly quickly if pieces are placed without thinking about future shapes.

Complete Full Rows

One way to clear blocks is to fill every square across a horizontal row.

As soon as the row is complete, it disappears.

The cleared cells become available again for later pieces.

Complete Full Columns

Vertical columns work the same way.

Fill all ten cells in a column and the column clears.

This means you should look in both directions when placing a shape.

A piece that does not finish a row may still complete a useful column.

Three Pieces Come At A Time

A major part of the puzzle is working with sets of three pieces.

Poki specifically says you need to place all three shapes in each round.

That means you should inspect the whole set before placing the first block.

The smallest piece is not always the best one to use first.

Look At All Three Shapes Before Moving

This is probably the most useful habit.

Before placing anything, check:

• Which piece is largest
• Which piece has an awkward shape
• Which one can finish a line
• Which one has only a few possible spaces

If one piece has only one safe position, it may deserve priority.

Large Empty Areas Matter

A board can look tidy but still be difficult if all the empty spaces are narrow.

Large square and rectangular areas give you more flexibility.

I try to protect at least one larger open section rather than filling every small gap immediately.

Avoid Creating Single-Square Holes

One empty square surrounded by blocks can become awkward.

When possible, build shapes in a way that keeps empty areas connected.

Do Not Fill The Center Too Quickly

The center of the board is valuable because pieces can extend in several directions from it.

If you pack the middle too early, larger shapes may become hard to place.

Leaving some central space can make later sets easier.

Corners Can Be Useful

Corners can work well for pieces that naturally fit against two edges.

Using them carefully can keep the middle of the board open.

However, completely filling a corner with awkward gaps nearby can create another problem.

The important thing is shape, not just location.

Long Pieces Need Planning

Long bars are often harder to fit once the board becomes crowded.

If you have a long open row or column, think carefully before breaking it into smaller gaps.

You may need that space for a future long piece.

Square Pieces Also Need Space

Large square blocks are another reason to protect open areas.

A board filled with thin gaps can still have many empty cells while offering nowhere for a wider shape.

This is why total empty space is less important than the shape of that empty space.

Clearing Two Lines At Once Is Useful

Sometimes one placement can finish both:

• A horizontal row
• A vertical column

That clears more space from one move.

It is often worth checking intersections before placing a piece elsewhere.

Do Not Clear A Line Just Because You Can

An immediate line clear feels useful, but sometimes another placement creates a stronger board.

Ask what the board will look like after the line disappears.

A move that clears one row but leaves several awkward gaps may be worse than a move that prepares two future clears.

There Is No Falling-Piece Timer

Unlike classic falling-block games, 1010! Deluxe lets you decide where pieces are placed rather than dropping them automatically from above.

That changes the pace completely.

You can stop and study the board before every move.

Take Your Time

Because speed is not the main challenge, rushing usually makes the puzzle harder.

A few extra seconds spent checking the board can prevent a placement that blocks a large area.

The useful rhythm is:

look → compare → place → recheck

The Game Is About Space Management

Scoring matters, but space is what keeps a run alive.

A good board has:

• Several open areas
• Few isolated holes
• Room for long pieces
• Room for wider blocks

The Run Ends When Pieces No Longer Fit

Who Created 1010! Deluxe?

For the Poki edition, the correct developer credit is Poki Studios.

Poki’s own current metadata directly lists Poki Studios as developer.

However, the game’s wider browser history needs a little care.

Why Some Sites Credit Zygomatic

Y8 hosts a game called 1010 Deluxe and currently credits Zygomatic as developer. It lists that edition as added on March 30, 2020.

That does not match Poki’s current developer metadata.

For a Mopoga page based on the Poki version, the safest approach is:
